Chef Fee
Our Chef Fee includes the following:
- Cost to plan your menu
- Shopping for the ingredients
- Prepping all the food
- Cooking and cool it according to strict food safety guidelines
- Storing your food for you to enjoy later
Your fee, due at the initial consultation, is based on the amount of food prepared in servings and dietary needs. The cost of the groceries and ingredients is due on the cook date.
Cost of Groceries_
The cost of your groceries will depend on your menu selections. Menu items that have hard to find items, specialty cuts of meats or organic items will make the cost of groceries higher.In your initial consultation, we will work with you determine your needs and follow your personal guidelines regarding grocery selections. We will shop at local markets to find the freshest ingredients and to insure quality and fair pricing. If you are budget conscious we can work with you personally to create a menu your family will enjoy and is yet affordable.
Container Cost
The containers used by Chef on the Go are varied and need to be available at every appointment date. There are some entrees and items that will be vacuumed sealed for freshness. We will provide you with a cloth bag to store the containers to have them available for each cooking date. You will reimburse Chef on the Go for the actual cost of the containers. The receipt forthem will be left at your home with an addressed, stamped envelope on the date of your initial service. Please remit payment of the receipt. Additional containers may be needed if they become damaged over time.
Side Dishes
All entrees include side dishes. For example, if we cook a meatloaf you may get herbed mashed potatoes or a vegetable rice pilaf with a roasted lemon-garlic chicken. Entrées from 1-3 will include 1 side dish, 4-5 entree option will have 2 sides, and 6 or more will have 3 side dishes. Your side dishes will be selected based on your food preferences from our interview. Some of our clients may prefer to add their own sides. This option is very popular and you may choose your favorite entrees. The Chef Fee is still the same but your grocery bill will be reduced.
Menu Selections
You will be able to choose from a variety of meals from Chef on the Go's extensive menu selections. You can have us cook your favorite recipes. You can choose recipes based on your personal preferences for each cook date. Any special requests can be made by the Friday the week before your service date. We will email you a suggested menu the week prior to your service date.
Services Included
Chef on the Go's services include:
- An extensive food and kitchen consultation to detail your dietary needs, personalize your selections and plan for the shopping, prepping, cooking, packaging and cleanup.
- Reheating instructions for the hot entrees with your personal menu.
- Storage containers as stated above.
- The freshest perishables purchased the morning of your appointment.
- Pantry items such as flours, fresh herbs, dry herbs, oils, vinegars and sugar, for example.
Chef Supplies
We use our own chef knives, specialty tools and most pots and pans but we will sometimes use some of your stock pots, small appliances or crock pots. All of your menu items are prepared in your home.
Cancellation Policy
All fees are due for cancellations less than 48 hours before your cook date, except in cases of medical emergencies. This policy does not include rescheduled cook dates. Any items purchased prior to cancellation will be billed.
Our One Time Service
This service is provided for $325+ the cost of groceries and containers needed for 4 entree of 4 servings each.
Your Commitment
We prefer that you set up scheduled cook dates on a quarterly basis. This will insure our income and reserve your cook dates. You can rescheule your cook date no less than 72 hours before your cook date(if reschedule date is available). If however you wish to discontinue your service for any reason, we ask for a two week notice so we will be able to fill your slot. We require no written long or short term agreements.
